Just to start off... if any of you feel the need to write me an awesome letter or send me Canadian stuff (aka chocolate cause we don't have reeces pieces or wonder bars here that would be fantastic) here is my address!

Everything with me is going good, I'm having regular stomach, neck, and head pain, and hopping up on advil BUT the verse "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13  is keeping me going right now with everything going on! I'm struggling with a little homesickness, a little anxiousness and not really knowing what my plan is here and the purpose that God has for me here, but I'm hearing a bit from Him and trying to put it together day by day and in my time along with Him.

In lecture, we watched a video about young child brides which I wanted to post here, but it was really heavy, but maybe I will just to give everyone a real sense about why I am here and the difference I want to make. If you watch this and feel deeply sad and angry like I did please pray for these women and the men and essentially, the whole situation as it's heartbreaking. I warn it's a strong message and hard to watch.

I've been praying a lot about where God wants me to go for our outreach and I will be posting later next week with the result! The options are either Toowoomba Australia for two week and then Cambodia or Latvia and then Russia. The reason we are going is consistent with both places as the "Compassion DTS" is to deal with a lot of human trafficking issues, but Cambodia will consist of a lot of orphanages and children, HIV positive women, children, families, etc., working in the slums, homes with women who have previously been involved in prostitution, possibly teaching english, and working in hospice homes.

Cambodia is extremely cheap so a LOT of men travel there with the intent of preying on younger children and purchasing them to use for whatever they want. It's so sad, extremely heartbreak, but very, very real and that's why we are being sent there. Cambodia and those men need Jesus.

Now, Russia on the other hand, will not be so much focused on orphanages etc. In Russia, there is a LOT of human trafficking, so the team that is sent there will be working with a ministry called Freedom 61. They will be working with an organization called Wings for Wheels, which works with disabled youth help believe in themselves and overcome their struggles. This group will be in Latvia for 6 weeks and then Moscow for 4 weeks working with homeless people and spending a lot of time in the Red Light District. I think the Red Light District would be extremely difficult, but really life changing and fulfilling.

So those are my two options so we'll see where God takes me!

In lecture today we also learned about worship and the purpose behind it, which I loved because that is my favourite part about church and it just makes me feel peaceful and content.
